Who We Are
The YWCA Central Orange County is part of a national organization, which for 150 years has been dedicated to meeting the needs of women and girls. Locally, the YWCA has served the community for over 90 years.
An Exciting Transition
First Steps at Beverly's House will continue to serve young women from the foster care system for years to come. YWCA COC is excited to announce that we are transferring operations of the program to Orangewood Children's Foundation. For more information, click here.
Congratulations Are In Order
Please join us in congratulating our Board President, Danielle Nava, on her recent appointment to the Fair Employment and Housing Commission.This is a huge accomplishment and we couldn't be more proud of the work that our president is accomplishing!
We've officially moved into our new location at the First Presbyterian Church of Orange! Our address is now 191 N. Orange Street, Orange, CA 92866. All of our contact information, including our mailing address, remains unchanged.

Overwhelming Support for Joanie's Purse Project
This holiday season, over 100 volunteers assisted with Joanie's Purse Project and we distributed almost 600 purses filled with toiletries to women in shelters and other support programs in Orange County. Thank you to our volunteers and donors for making this such a success!

Changes at the YWCA
We are pleased to introduce Maria Abenes, our new interim Executive Director. Since 2005, she has led the development of First Steps at Beverly's House and now accepts the role of interim Executive Director with enthusiasm and continued commitment to the YWCA mission.
Open House Success
The evening included tours of Beverly's House, presentations from our board president, executive director and volunteer coordinator, along with a moving speech from one of our residents about her experience emancipating from foster care.

YWCA Kicked Up Their Heels for Wine, Women & Shoes
This much anticipated event brought together women and community leaders who felt an urgency to make a difference during an evening of fine wines, gourmet foods and designer shoes.
Purse Project Huge Success
This Mother's Day Purse Project was a HUGE success. A total of 372 purses were made available to women in need.
OPAWL Nominated at Spirit of Volunteerism Luncheon
Orange Park Acres Women's League (OPAWL) was nominated by the YWCA COC for their support and generous contributions to the YWCA & Beverly's House at the 35th annual Spirit of Volunteerism luncheon thrown by OneOC.
Large Donation from Employees Community Fund of Boeing California
Yesterday the Employees Community Fund of Boeing California presented the YWCA COC with a $3,000 check to support Beverly's House. Thank you Boeing!
